Log a pumping session while your hands are full

What does a pumping tracker do?

A pumping tracker records each session: when you pumped, how many ounces you got and from which side, so the milk in the freezer and the milk in her bottles have a history.

In Our Little Two you say "Pumped 3 ounces, both sides". It is logged on its own Track, right beside her feeds.

Log it while the pump is running

The problem

Pumping ties up both hands for twenty minutes, and the numbers are the first thing to blur. Was that 3 ounces or 4? Left, right or both? Which bottle did it end up in?

How it works

  1. Say "Pumped 3 ounces, both sides" when you finish. Or tap the Pumping button and pick the amount and the side.
  2. The entry is read back in one line.
  3. Later, give her a bottle and log it as expressed milk. Both sit in the same list.
  4. Ask "How much has she had today?" for a total from her feeds.

What changes

Your pumping history lives with her feeding history, so nobody has to open a second app to see how it adds up.

A pumping entry in the same day list as her bottle and her nap.

How it fits with feeds

Pumping is its own Track, separate from what she drinks. A bottle is logged as a feed, with a note on whether it was formula or expressed milk.

Pumping is not switched on by default. Choose it when you add her, or later, if it is part of your routine.

  • It does not tell you how much you should pump or how often.
  • It does not judge your supply. For questions about pumping, ask your pediatrician or a lactation consultant.

Pumping, kept simple

  • Amount and side

Ounces, plus left, right or both, saved as one entry with the time.

  • Hands-free logging

Say what happened in a normal sentence and it goes on the right Track.

  • Expressed milk in the bottle

When she drinks it, log the bottle in ounces and mark it as expressed milk.

  • Only if you need it

Pumping is a Track you turn on. The ones you do not use stay out of the way.

  • Misheard an amount?

Say the right number. The fix replaces the old entry and keeps a record of the change.

  • Your partner sees it too

Everyone on her Care Team sees the pumping log, so the person on the bottle shift knows what is in the fridge.

Questions parents ask

Is pumping logged as a feed?

No. Pumping and feeding are separate Tracks, and they sit next to each other in the day list.

Can I log a session by tapping?

Yes. The Pumping button takes the amount and the side, and writes the same entry a sentence would.
