An AI baby assistant that answers from your own log

What is an AI baby assistant?

An AI baby assistant turns what you say about your baby into a written record and answers questions from that record.

In Our Little Two the AI has two narrow jobs: understand what you said and file it, and work out which question you asked. The answer itself is calculated from your log.

Where the AI helps, and where it stops

The problem

Typing into an app at 3am is slow, so a voice helps. But a general chatbot will happily guess about a baby it has never met, and a guess is the last thing you want about feeds or meds.

How it works

  1. You speak. The audio goes to our server, is transcribed by OpenAI, and the audio is then discarded.
  2. The sentence is matched to her Tracks and the details are filled in: amount, side, dose, time.
  3. If one detail is unclear, it asks a single short question, like "Three or thirteen ounces?"
  4. When you ask something, the AI only decides which of three questions it is: last, today, or are we on track. The log does the arithmetic.

What changes

You get the speed of talking without handing judgment to a model. What you hear back is what was logged, and anything it cannot answer from the log stays unanswered.

Every number on this screen comes from entries in the log, not from a language model.

What it does not do

These limits are deliberate. They are what make the answers safe to rely on.

  • It does not diagnose, and it is not medical advice.
  • It does not predict when she will eat, sleep or wake.
  • It is not an open chat. It answers three kinds of question about her log, and nothing else.
  • It does not invent numbers. If something was not logged, it cannot appear in an answer.

What happens to your voice

Your recording is sent to our server and transcribed by OpenAI. The audio is then thrown away. The text of what you said is kept with her log, so you can always see what was heard and what it became.

When to call a clinician instead

Our Little Two keeps track. A log can help you describe what happened, but it cannot tell you whether something is wrong.

If you are worried about your baby, call your pediatrician. If you think it is an emergency, call your local emergency number now.

What the AI actually does

  • Understands plain speech

"Gave vitamin D." "Nursing left." "Wet diaper." It knows which Track each one belongs to.

  • Asks once, only when it must

At most one short question, about the one unclear detail. Never a form to fill in.

  • Reads it back

Each entry comes back in one line, like "Logged 3 oz bottle at 3:12. 14 today, 4 to go."

  • Answers from the record

The model sorts your question. The answer is calculated from her entries and Goals.

  • Three questions, done well

When did she last eat? How much today? Are we on track? Each one has a real answer.

  • Audio is not kept

Recordings are transcribed by OpenAI and then deleted. Only the text stays with her log.

  • Easy to put right

If it heard you wrong, say the fix. The old entry is marked as replaced, not silently changed.

Questions parents ask

Can I ask it anything about my baby?

No. It answers when something last happened, how much today, and whether you are on track against her Goals. Anything else goes to the people who know her, starting with your pediatrician.

What if it mishears me?

You hear the entry read back straight away. If it is wrong, say what it should be and the entry is replaced.
